Schemerlicht Festival

Space Voyagers

Xandra van der Eijk
24 11 2025

Mother of Pearl was adapted for outdoor presentation as part of Schemerlicht Festival 2024, an audiovisual walking route through twelve installations in Nijmegen’s Goffertpark. The festival brings together artists, scientists, and composers around the theme of space, not the realm of stars and black holes, but the everyday world in which we live and move.

The 2024 edition invited visitors to explore how space is perceived, how nature intertwines with it, and what living networks can teach us about our place in the world. Visitors were invited to move through the park as Space Voyagers on an autumn evening stroll. This year’s festival formed the first instalment of a new triptych around the theme, suitable for all ages.
